Travi is a talented Latina artist who struggles between her life in the ‘hood as a young gang leader and the promise of a better one elsewhere. Each episode of “Down for Life” depicts a single, fateful day in Travi’s life as she navigates the treacherous landscape of South Central Los Angeles.

Inspired by the movie Down for Life, and featuring many of the same characters a decade later, the series will follow Travi’s path out of the ‘hood, on a tightrope between despair and hope.

Her journey will unfold over several seasons, as she and her family transition
from ghetto life to the world beyond.

As Travi herself acknowledges, it’s easier to take the chola out of the ‘hood, than to take the ‘hood out of the chola.
